Post: Direct Mail Best Practice

I have obtained a list of properties that are currently violating codes in my city and my strategy is to use direct mail to find potential wholesale deals. What are some best practices for targeting this group of leads? Should I leave out vacant properties? My guess was mailing a vacant property would only stuff a mailbox that isn't checked by anyone.

What steps should a new investor take when it comes to opening business accounts with a bank? Is it better to do business with a smaller community bank or a larger bank?

@Taylor Brugna, Thank you for sharing those points especially about communication.  I work full time in healthcare IT and I can relate to the value of communication. I have rubbed shoulders with some accountants to know that January through April is Christmas and to be patient with them. LOL!

Post: What is your FREEDOM number (#)?

Great question @Tony Wooldridge! For me I don't believe I can ever attach a number to freedom or at least put a numerical value on it. I see freedom as more than hitting a certain net worth. Freedom for me is flexibility with my time to engage in purposeful activity by contributing to my church, being a leader to my family, and helping friends with their projects. I have realized that we all evolve as a person every 6-12 months which means desires change and we dream new dreams. I believe when you are working towards your purpose and doing everything you were put on earth to do it's challenging to put a dollar amount on that. :)

Great question @Tyler Williams! I am interested to read the feedback of others. I know I would have this question soon myself.

I have seen Dr. Stanley's book, The Millionaire Next Door, on the book shelves in bookstores and haven't picked it up. After reading these posts I'm inspired to grap a copy of all his published work. @Stephen Masek, thank you for sharing your story! It inspired me!
