I'm interested in hearing others' experiences with some RE investor-related companies that I'm considering partnering with on my first deal. However, in the past, my posts were deleted because they sounded like solicitations. I certainly don't want to violate the intention of this forum. Is it appropriate to use this forum to find others who have used these services? If not, any suggestions on how I might get that kind of reference information?

It is so nice to see some folks here from the Flathead Valley! I'm also from Kalispell, however, recently been living in Bend, OR. WE still have a triplex in Kalispell but are wanting to get another MF unit that we can stay in AND can BE rented when we are not using it. Does anyone know any off-market deal finders in the valley that you recommend? Is there a Flathead RE meet-up?

Has anyone here be involved with Hipster Investments? If so, I'd love to hear about your experiences?

I'm looking for some handholding on my first deal or two and they were recommended.

It would depend on your age and how long you plan to be in the RE game. If I were in my 20 and 30 I'd buy as much RE as I could in the path of growth and wait it out!

Thanks for asking this question. I’m just getting back into RE investing after a 15 year hiatus. It is a new world and I’m struggling with the exact same question. To solve that problem I’ve considered buying the cheaper cash flowing properties to get me started and once I build my confidence           Move up to more competitive appreciating markets. I’d love to hear what others think.

Thanks Adam,

Yes, I will check out the REIAs. Getting to know the RE community is really important. Plus its fun! I'm glad to know about MRA Capital Partners.

Lawrence,

I've not done much out of state property management. I managed my own properties when I lived there and when I moved I hired a friend who is a professional property manager and she has done a wonderful job the past 15 years. So it has been easy. However, when I get to FL I'll have to find a new team and Yes, I'm happy to send folks your way!

After being an out of state landlord for a couple of years (over a decade ago) I would not recommend it under most circumstances. A good property manager will not only save you LOTS of time but can save you lots of money too. I learned that the hard way. I lost thousands of dollars with my DIY out of state approach even though I had many friends in the neighborhood who did drive-bys for me. The ROI on good property management can be excellent. I'd save money in other ways and make sure your investment is being well cared for.

Are there any "how to navigate the forums" tutorials? Hopefully, I'm not the only one who could use some instructions.
