Welcome @Derek Richardson You'll love this area. We've had a lot of success meeting people through BP as well as our local TREIA group. Also, contact @Adam Schneider to join his Deal Maker Session group that meets once a month. Are you also a general contractor? We'd love to meet some subs and contractors you may know in the area! Let us know how we can help you!

@Nicole Nash Thank you for the informative post. We are also looking in the Raleigh/Durham area but aren't afraid to check out the surrounding suburbs, especially Pittsboro, Apex and Cary. Please add me to your list as well.

@Dawn Brenengen Thank you! We shipped in antique lighting, custom cabinets from Atlanta and spent MANY hours saving and repairing the original trim. It's the perfect home for entertaining and was a joy to bring back to life, but we need less intensive jobs now!

@Dawn Brenengen We are interested in a balance of both. Our goal this year is to flip just enough to acquire the cash we need and hold once we've reached that point. If the price/rehab is right, we would like to work with two homes at once, more as we grow. We are considering the BRRRR method, but will have to flip some for direct profit in the beginning.

@John Davis Where on the BP site is the last Thursday info posted for our area?

@Dawn Brenengen Thank you for the recommendation!! Keep us in mind if something comes your way you don't can't do alone.

@Dawn Brenengen Thank you for sharing your success story. We are working to do the same thing in and around Raleigh. Everyone is telling us finding leads on MLS are a thing of the past. How do you find your homes, and do you have a general contractor you suggest? We love our current realtor, but would like to build a team of realtors, wholesalers, and contractors.

Thanks!

@Sonja Hunter Thank you for your post! We are relatively new to Raleigh in that we've been working in a small bubble with a small team for the last 2 years and are looking to expand our network in a huge way. We have the same questions you do because it feels as if we are starting over. I wish we could be more help to you, as we love Raleigh, but we're learning too. As a fellow "Newbie", we wish you well and hope we can help each other in the future as we grow if you choose Raleigh.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

Michael and I have been flipping homes in the University Park area of Raleigh, NC for the last two years. We've enjoyed taking our time restoring old homes with an upscale historically sensitive focus. However, now its time to expand our reach into homes with a faster turn around and smaller budget. We love the realtor and sub-contractors we've worked with so far, but have been working in a bit of a rookie mistake "loner bubble".

We have joined TREIA, and have our first networking meetings this week. We're on BP to network with local like minded investors and agents. We also want to find some general contractors to help streamline projects. We discovered (rather late, we must admit) the idea of using wholesalers and would like to get recommendations from locals.

Our most recent project at 301 Brooks Ave is currently on the market, but will fit a unique family. We are very proud of the home and have received many compliments on the quality of work and details. However, the size of the home came with its own set of lessons encouraging us to aim for homes that will end with a smaller price tag fitting a more average home buyer.

We are reading everything we can get our hands on and welcome any suggestions, lunch meetings and recommendations you're willing to share.

Thanks!

Candace & Michael
