This is a very insightful thread - thank you for starting it @Branden Smith!

I as well am looking into doing a MFH house-hacking investment in Sacramento, so all of this information is equally helpful. Would love to connect with you all to connect and glean more knowledge.

Janessa Rivera Hi Janessa! Welcome to the Bp community! I'm currently in Berkeley but am considering investing in the Sacramento area as well. Would love to connect!

@Derrick Lin I haven't yet, but just got a message about this one: https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/521/topics/25...

I'm going to aim to show up there and see what that's like. Want to come through as well?

@Derrick Lin welcome! I recently joined the BP community not too long ago myself and currently in NorCal and have been increasingly digging into all of the resources on here about starting REI - I must agree with you also that this warm welcoming community supplemented by solid advice left and right makes you feel so supported and able!

All the best and looking forward to staying in touch!

Thanks again @Juan Carlos Quiroz Zolezzi - I've got this article saved and added several of those books on the soon-to-read list. Yea I'm currently in business school right now, so before I graduate I'm going to connect more with the Real Estate group here and get some more learning.

@Juan Carlos Quiroz Zolezzi thank you for the reminder! I continue to read through blogs and see the overwhelming consensus is DO NOT spend money on a "mentor" or "guru help" - any money is best invested into the business.

Question though about resources: many people recommend books to read - do you have any thoughts on what "books/resources" to buy if any? Or should I really focus on these free resources and real estate clubs?

@Jesus Chavez you and I should talk! I'm graduating this year but can definitely discuss applications, Haas cultures, and connect you to whomever. Also thank you and @David Tipton for the advice on the material - BP is such a plentiful source it's incredible! I'm giving myself the next week or so to sift through this wealth of info to get a solid foundation and begin to get a better idea of what exactly I need supplements for. I've already read the UBG, listened to a few podcasts, digested several blog articles, and am almost halfway done with Rich Dad, Poor Dad. The ramp up has been quite the experience!

@Irene Thanks for the advice! I'm loving these blogs and podcasts and forums - it's actually so helpful that it's almost overwhelming due to the amount of information! Curating will be one of my immediate "BP Onboarding" goals for sure!
