Hi Mark, my firm has locations in Sterling Heights, Troy and Waterford, MI. While we're still a bit of a ways from you, if you're comfortable working remotely we'd be happy to help you out. We offer bookkeeping services as well as tax prep and consultation. We all have some level of exposure to real estate taxation as well.

This is a VERY proactive post, but I know finding a general contractor can take some time so I wanted to put a pin out now.

Does anyone have either a recommendation for a specific general contractor who works with FHA 203(k) loans, or tips on how to find one?

Hi Jason, looking to attend the next meetup. Looks like nothing has been announced yet, do they generally occur once a month in the same city?

@Caity B. welcome to the community! I work in product here at BiggerPockets and am also a newbie investor myself in the metro Detroit area, would love to find time to chat to learn more about your journey thus far and how BiggerPockets can help.

Hey Nate, great to meet a BP employee and someone from the area! I would love that. I’ve sent a request to connect

Hi Caity,

Glad you found the #1 investment market in the country. Our portfolios perform very well. And those goals really are obtainable here.

We actually have a live/virtual meetup for investors this Wednesday @6p. Maybe you would enjoy.

I can send you the details.

Hi Joe. Thank you so much for the tip! I should be able to attend that and will put it on my calendar!

@Greg Scott thank you for the tip Greg! I actually had found the event for this past week but wasn’t able to attend. There’s a virtual woman’s call on the 15th during the meeting I was hoping to join, if I’m not able to make it the 15th I’ll shoot for the next one :)

Hi everyone! My name is Caity, I'm a CPA and owner of one rental property in Metro Detroit (was supposed to have two, but fell in love with the second and I am now the tenant, haha). I've recently set a goal for myself to acquire 30 units, or the cash-flow equivalent of such (assuming approx. $100/month/unit), within the next two years. It feels lofty, but given what I've seen from the individuals on the Bigger Pockets YT channel I know it's doable. I've been looking into different types of property - multi-family, commercial and RV parks, primarily - and am trying to determine what niche I'd fit best in. I'd love to build authentic connections with other members of the BP community (near Metro Detroit especially) to share resources, knowledge, deals and contacts with and to help one another stay accountable. Also looking for meetups in the area or the most useful virtual meetups. Looking forward to introductions and thank you in advance for any tips or advice!
