hey everyone, I was wondering if someonr could either explain the process of getting a hard money loan or point me in the right direction where I can find out. should I find the deal first? what information will the need from me? will I receive the money in installments or all up front? what else should I know about using HML?

with the house prices in chch at the moment I would be looking to invest elsewhere unless you get an extremely good deal. People are buying houses well over the market price and with a surplus of rentals just now rent is being slashed.

So basically if I wanted to work on the house full time until completion I would have to wait until the property sold before I receive any income?

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but here it goes....

So I want to purchase a property and initially I want to do most of the work myself and to finance the first deal I will most likely use a hard money lender. Can I pay myself a salary throughout the project so that I don't have to go 3 - 6 months without receiving any income?
