Hi all, I was wondering if there are any investors or agents (who work with investors) in the Syracuse, Oswego, Binghamton, Albany, or Cornell areas. I am looking into these locations for an investment property and would love to connect. Thank you!

Thank you @David Lee Hall, III. Do you invest in the CT area? How did you go about vetting/securing an attorney?

I am about to make offers on 2-4 multi-unit properties in the New Britain/Bristol/W Hartford area in CT. I work with a partner and we were looking into whether or not we should use a RE attorney to review the contracts and make any additions, if necessary. I am an out of state investor and wondering if anyone can help with the following:

  1. -Is this normal for an attorney to review or modify every time an offer is made? Don't the costs skyrocket?
  2. -How much should I expect to pay for these services?
  3. -What are some of the most important questions you ask a potential attorney?
  4. -Any recommendations for a real estate attorney in the area?
  5. -What services outside of contract review would you use the lawyer for?

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

My friend and I are new to the real estate investment world and are beginning to dive deeper into markets that we are interested in. So far, some destinations we are looking at are: Cincinnati, OH...Columbus, OH...Tampa, FL...Memphis, TN, & Nashville, TN. We are looking to invest in single family properties that are in close vicinity to the major cities, that have a good education system, and overall good market trends. We are wondering if anyone has any insight into which neighboring towns are some good options to look at as well as if anyone currently invests in any of these markets, we would love to connect with you.

Thanks!

Thank you for the warm welcome @Account Closed!

I work in Manhattan, and see myself staying here for a long time. (Born & raised on LI, family still here, etc.). I would like to start off with a live in/rental property and those surrounding areas all fit my interests in location. I understand the high cost with all 3, a risk I am willing to take for the reward!

@Jordan Gregg. Thank you for your response and warm welcome! I really appreciate all of this.

I've been listening to the podcasts myself and yes, they have been a great source of information. I need to be more active in the forums and attend some meetups in the area, great advice! I know it is a slow and steady process that needs to be handled with care and I look forward to the learnings to come.

Congratulations on your first closing and best of luck in the coming months.

Hi there-

I am very interested in getting into the RE industry, more specifically, in the niche of buying to live in AND rent a multi family duplex-fourplex in the surrounding NYC areas. I am someone who really wants to grasp a good understanding of the markets, research, and management. Any recommendations, connections, or insight would be unbelievable and appreciated greatly. Thank you and if I could add any value to you, I would be more than happy to!

Best,

Bryan
