@Glenn Clapp Thanks for asking! He recently moved out of state to Idaho Falls and is now building up his business out there. I can see if he has any great recommendations for the Salt Lake area though if thats of help.

Hi all, I am a commercial Realtor and looking to get into wholesaling but would love to either join or start a mastermind group! Ideally I would love a smaller group (under 10 people) of other wholesalers or investors in which we could meet weekly at a set time. I don't know how to go about finding those that are out there, I've seen plenty of the larger meet ups or virtual networking groups but its usually 15+ people.

The objectives I have in mind are for one - accountability. Its great having a set weekly meeting to go over what you're working on, wins/fails, and ideas. Two - education. Learning from others experiences and teaching others from my own.

Would love to hear of if anyone has a mastermind started or would like to start one up with me, I am proposing a weekly meeting via zoom or google meet at a time that works well for everyone. Thanks!

Post: Wholesaling - Commercial Real Estate

Hi all! I am a commercial realtor in Salt Lake City, UT. Before getting my license I learned a lot about wholesaling residential real estate, but never got into it. However, I am curious about wholesaling commercial real estate.

Are there any commercial wholesalers here that could give me some insight, articles, resources, and/or open for a chat about it? I would highly appreciate it! I am scoping through anything I can find here on BiggerPockets in the mean time.

A few main questions:

1. What costs are associated with getting started

2. What contracts do you use for these deals (clearly I am used to thorough contracts in CRE, but I know in wholesaling residential real estate you can do so with a 1 page contract or double close)

3. Has anyone done wholesale deals while also being a licensed realtor, and has it caused any issues? (As far as I know in UT its legal, but that they are cracking down on it. Something I will look further into).

Thanks in advance!

Great post. As with any opportunity that can yield great returns - you need to learn and study! Study the market, repair costs, ect. Mistakes happen understandably, but its an industry portrayed as "get rich quick" and many fail to educate themselves along the way. Hopefully this wholesaler is open to your constructive advice as they move forward.

Post: Getting My Real Estate License - Choosing A Brokerage

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all keeping sane in this pandemic we're in.

I am working on getting my real estate license, and at first I was deciding between doing commercial and residential. I came to my decision of doing residential and want to focus on luxury real estate for many reasons.

As I am meeting with several brokerages I'm struggling to figure out which to place my license. I've narrowed it down to 3: Berkshire Hathaway, Keller Williams, Signature Real Estate (This last one is only in Las Vegas and here, they are fee based but also offer great training for newbies)

With my intensions of focusing on luxury homes, I worry about working with a smaller brokerage (Signature). Being able to brand myself and build a team in the future, great training, culture, and ability to have control of growing my business is big for me.

I would love any feedback from someone who has worked with any of these brokerages and/or does luxury homes.

Thank you for any and all feedback!!

Hello @Andy Jenkins! I live in Midvale. I have been to one of the REIA meeting about a year ago, and also a meetup conducted by @Jeff Rappaport that was on virtual wholesaling. The information provided was amazing and I plan to attend another one soon. Because of my other business consuming my time I have not been very consistent with keeping up to date with it all. Fortunately, I have now freed up more of my schedule and excited to get my license and involved in real estate! I appreciate the great referrals!

Hello!

I am wanting to get into wholesaling houses, and also getting my real estate license. I was curious how the wholesale market is in Utah right now and if there are many deals going on? I know many who have said it is way too saturated especially in Salt Lake City but could be better in surrounding areas. I will be focusing on my license first but would love to get into wholesaling once I have that taken care of. I would love to hear feedback from an investor in Salt Lake!

Also I would love to connect with local investors and realtors as I begin my new career in real estate.

Thank you for the feedback!

Hello everyone!

My name is Brittany and I am in school to get my real estate license. I am really going back on forth on which industry I would like to go into. I have a great connection that could help mentor and help me get started in commercial, but wondering if it would be a better idea to start in residential to get some experience first. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done each or also faced this tough decision.

If you're in Utah I would love to connect and hear from you especially.

Thank you all!
