Hi all,
My name is Brian Schroeder and I am currently a sophomore at Georgetown University. I work as an acquisition analyst intern in CRE but would like to begin my own portfolio.
I was hoping to connect with professionals who have experience in either flipping or owning single family rental properties in Houston. I am looking for mentors/advice. Please give me shout!
Brian

Hey all,
I am looking for some advice. I am currently a sophomore at Georgetown University studying finance. I interned over the fall at a boutique PE Real Estate firm as an acquisition analyst in Houston. It was wonderful experience! I am finishing up the semester and have a few offers to juggle between:
1. A boutique multifamily development internship in Houston (Spring & Summer 2021)
2. JLL Capital Markets (Summer 2021)
3. Continue searching for Summer 2021 opportunities
4. Study abroad during summer 2021 at Oxford.
Overall, I really need you guy's help. All of these opportunities sound interesting but I have received all sorts of advice suggesting I go with a bigger more structured internship program like JLL as 1. bigger name 2. structure. However, I really cannot decide. I would like to learn as much as possible but not bounce around from job-to-job as I do not think that would look great either. Any tips would be helpful!

Hello all,
I am a sophomore at GU and I am interested in pursuing a career in multifamily development. I am currently studying finance and am in love with architecture. I was wondering if you all have any recommendations as to books, podcasts, subscription services, or just general tips you might have for a young student trying to break further into the field of development. I currently intern as an acquisitions analyst in Houston.
Over the past few weeks I have spoken with brokers, entrepreneurs, investors, and developers and they all give me very different advice. The broker for example recommended that I go get my sales agent license to boost credibility while an entrepreneur recommended I do not offer my skillsets to company owners for free. I have begun learning Sketchup but I am just unsure of what would make me most valuable/benefit my progression the most. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you all!
