Allen, that would be great. Please connect us.

Hi all,

Does anyone have insight on what strategies work well in Charlotte? It seems to be one of the hottest markets right now. I Will be checking this area out very soon because I am looking for a place to potentially relocate to start start building a proper portfolio. Currently, it is a little too expensive for an up and comer like myself to expand in the New York Metro area. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Nice, your background seems pretty similar to mine. I also, got a multifamily in which I house hack. I currently live in the Jersey/NYC area but am looking to potentially sell my current home in Jersey and relocate somewhere with nicer weather and somewhere where I can get homes for cheaper that give a little more bang for the buck. If the opportunity is right, I would consider investing long term.

Do any friendly BP members have some advice on what strategies work in this area? It seems that there aren't many multifamily homes. Therefore, flipping or brrrring single families may work. Maybe college rentals in Durham.... Any experiences or insights would be much appreciated!

Thanks Jaysen! I actually started looking into Connecticut.

Hey Filipe, do you have a good email I can reach you at? I would like to get an idea as to what kind of returns I can get for Hartford, West Britain and East Rock. In addition, what is a fair price for property management in your market?

Anyone have any friendly advice as to what areas offer high cash on cash return or a high return on investment? I am ideally looking to get a property with 5 units and up but would be willing to look at 3-4 units If they offer a decent return. Thanks In advance!

Anyone know a reputable real estate agent in West New York/Union City New Jersey? I am looking for a 3 to 4 unit property and have plans to live in one of the units. Thanks!

Hi BiggerPockets community. My name is Brian. I joined this community to network and associate myself with like minded people. My goal is to  make my very first purchase by this summer. I'm aiming to purchase a 3-4 multi-family property and to live in one of the units to keep my living expenses at a minimum. I'm in penny pinching mode and am almost at 20% down (plus closing cost/reserves) on a specific price range. I have been searching for properties in the boroughs but have decided our best bet would be to start searching in Jersey (perferably close to midtown) as properties in Jersey seem to be less expensive for a 3-4 multi family house. I would really appreciate if there were any suggestions on up and coming neighborhoods in Jersey we should be looking into. Please send good vibes and if you have any pearls of wisdom, feel free to share!
