Raleigh Durham investing

Do any friendly BP members have some advice on what strategies work in this area? It seems that there aren't many multifamily homes. Therefore, flipping or brrrring single families may work. Maybe college rentals in Durham.... Any experiences or insights would be much appreciated!

@Brian Rivera I am still fairly new to the area but if you are thinking about relocating, look into house hacking a single family with a walk out basement. In the suburbs of Raleigh-Durham, a lot of older homes are built on small hills and have walk out basements. I bought one in garner, now fixing it up while living in it and converting the basement into its own studio like apartment in which I’ll Airbnb or rent out long term. Obviously you will have to account for utilities not being split but it’s a great way to get around the small inventory in duplexes, triplexes, and quads in the area which go for ridiculous prices.

My long term goal with the property is to move out at the year mark into a new househack and eventually pull out some equity with all the renovations I am doing! Message me with questions about the area, I’m happy to help
