Jeffrey Holst Thank you for the input! We havE seen the 40k duplexes all over and figured you get what you pay for. We would most likely stay closer to downtown but time will tell the next time we visit. Red Bank seems to be a commonly positive referred to area on realtor. Will definitely check out the other areas. Thanks!

Ryan Stahr We will be visiting Chattanooga again this fall/winter to take a much more detailed tour of the city. We were only in the city for a couple hours passing through the first time around. That being said we most likely won’t be ready to park money in TN just yet, we’re trying to build our NY portfolio up to take care of certain things up here (aging family etc). The offer is much appreciated though! P.S: any insights as to what neighborhoods are good for investing other than right downtown?

Arbor Hill has always been known as a “rough neighborhood”. Time will tell I suppose

Where in TN are you looking? My wife and I visited Chattanooga last year and fell in love with the city so we hope to start investing there.

@Adam Noble Congrats on the flip! NY is tough, still has very high taxes and Rochester gets hammered with snow during the winter months so that’s another battle. I currently am located about 15 minutes from a nice little town with great schools but the school/property taxes kill any hope of high cash flow, so make sure to really get the most up to date numbers. Best of luck!

@gregory Be careful of the taxes in Greenwich, I would definitely get the assessment redone or make sure it’s current. Taxes that way are a killer.

@Dennis s. Thanks for the input, in my area taxes are better than other surrounding towns so we got a little luck there. Any input on the good areas? I keep seeing “Red Bank” when I look on realtor. Brian

@Wes Harrington, was also curious to know what property/ school taxes are like in Chattanooga. We also bought a duplex two years ago but the school taxes alone were $4,000 a year
