Post: Any help for an introvert on being more social

While I'm not an introvert, last year I changed roles in my day job (in the software industry) and was moving from a sit-at-the-computer-all-day job to one which requires much more public speaking and facilitating meetings. The idea of getting up and speaking was overwhelming, and I knew I needed to find a way to get comfortable or I'd be miserable in the new role. I thought about joining Toastmasters, but it seemed kind of stuffy and boring to me. So after looking at a few other options, I ended up taking an Improv class. I ended up loving it so much, that I continued through the entire series of classes and joined their Rec League. Improv is a GREAT way to get out of your comfort zone in a very safe, controlled manner. The hardest part is walking through the door the first night. As a bonus, I made a bunch of new friends along the way!

Apparently that depends on the plan. I have taken a 401k loan in the past and was able to continue contributing while paying back the loan. I would check with the plan administrator for the particulars of your program.

@Sharon Rosendahl Thanks for sharing this. Have you looked into what the current status of the bill is? A lot of bills never make it anywhere, but definitely worth keeping an eye on this one.
