Any help for an introvert on being more social

Posted

I’m am a new investor and through reading dozens of business and real estate books I realize that it will be extremely hard trying to do any business by myself with minimal interactions with other people. Is there anybody like me with social anxiety that has found a way to be more comfortable meeting people and putting themselves out there. Any tips would be appreciated.

I practice an extreme variant of "imagine everyone in their underwear."

Nurture and develop an overwhelming contempt for everyone and everything. Everyone you meet is a total BS artist. Everything you hear is less than 50% true. Everyone cheats on their wives, cheats their way through school and exams and their tax returns, lies to their kids, lies to God, lies to themselves. It's hard to be socially anxious in front of a roomful of people who deserve absolutely no respect.

In most cases, your assessment will be completely spot on. When it isn't, it won't matter, because the people who matter will appreciate you as a human being anyway.
