I tried to find a thread on BP that discussed an idea similar to this, but came up blank.... which probably means it's a stupid idea.  But wanted to bounce it off the forum anyways....

When trying to sell a rehabbed house, would it be a good idea to give potential buyers who viewed the house a quick survey on what they liked / didn't like about the rehab?

Survey could be delivered on the spot or possibly in a follow up email/call at a later date.  Asking even simple questions such as paint color, type of flooring, etc.  Could be a good way to narrow down the rehab scope of work for your target buyers.  However, could also be a possible turnoff for people if they are considering purchasing the house (e.g. the realize they hate the paint color only after you ask them that question)

Hello all,

Is there an easy way to pull data on cities to verify that it is a good flipping market?  In other words, to see what price point investors are buying distressed properties at and what price point they are reselling for?

I know J Scott mentions in his book of the criteria of good flipping markets, but I'm looking for the actual methods to find this data. I do not have access to the MLS

Looking for some advice from all the Pittsburgh investors out there..... Looking to finally get started investing in the Pittsburgh area (specifically I live in the south hills). And in trying to cut down on my research time, I would love to hear what strategies have worked for you guys in regards to finding properties. Have you found that MLS is possible if I have a real estate license, or is the market too saturated with investors? Are you able to find cash flowing properties? If so, are you looking for properties that follow the 2% rule? 1% rule?

Thanks for the advice. Michael Wentzel so you wouldn't suggest using a joint compound in the grooves? (Grooves meaning the joints between panels running from ceiling to floor) Also, does anybody have insight on special primers, paint, or rollers to use? Is sanding the paneling necessary ?

I'm currently rehabbing a house and the basement is completely 80's style - red carpet, wood paneling for walls... you know the type.

What's the best method to deal with the wood paneling. Is it to tear down and drywall? Or would painting the paneling white (after using an adhesion primer) sufficient. It's a 1,000 SF house looking for an ARV of ~$150,000... so nothing super high end.

Hey guys - question for the group here.

I have a house that I'm rehabbing to flip that has some driveway issues.  Comps are in the 150k-170k range.

The driveway wraps around to a garage around the back of the house, and as you can see in the pictures the concrete is deteriorating towards the top of the driveway.  Also, it is in rough shape around the garage door, as well as some sizable gaps between concrete slabs.  

Looking for some thoughts on what to do here from some experienced flippers (since I am not).  I'm assuming I do not want to replace the whole driveway, but thoughts that have crossed my mind are: replacing a portion of the concrete towards the top of the driveway, trying to patch it, do nothing.
