Hello! New to STR game and Bigger Pockets. My wife and I purchased a property in Cullowhee, NC (3B/3B) and are trying to decide if we want to go with a local property manager or manage the bookings ourselves and outsourcing a professional cleaning service. Since we have several family members/friends in the area along with several maintenance/handy men on standby we feel that we can manage ourselves outside of cleaning and occasional maintenance. Any opinions on our plan? We are out of state (California) and would love to save 20% per month by forgoing property management.

Thanks so much Megan!

Hello! New to bigger pockets and STR investing. We are looking at buying in Cullowhee, NC where we went to college and feel that the tourism/attendance has been steadily increasing over the last few years. We are out of state (California) and looking into potential property managers. Does anyone have any recommendations in this area?

I am also looking in this area but am out of state and looking for property managers specifically in the Sylva/Cullowhee area which is where Western Carolina University is located. Anyone have any recommendations on property managers?
