I'm Indian from India and we don't wear shoes in the home. Very common with East Asian cultures.

If you're looking for appreciation you should consider South Florida. Fort Lauderdale has solid regulations in place that make investing in STR's safe. It's a more cosmopolitan city with more draw than just the beach. You also have essentially year-round demand so income is solid. You then have the appreciation, which is the main reason I invested.

Anyone having log-in issues right now? I can't seem to log on via desktop or mobile.

Do you guys get mosquitos on your lake houses?

Yeah I saw that but it seems like there are contradicting theories. My homes require a 4-night minimum and are not cheap so this normally weeds out the riff raff. Anyway, hope we get back to normal at some point.

So my home is ranked number one in Fort Lauderdale and this would be the second weekend where I haven't secured a booking.

A couple days ago someone contacted me (they were able to bypass the AirBnB filters) saying they were trying to book my home but AirBnB was giving them the below error message. At first I thought AirBnB was trying to protect me from a problem booking but then I did some googling and found the following thread.

https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Hosting/Is-Airbnb-replacing-Hosts-with-Hotels/td-p/1273241

I also find it odd that AirBnB would direct the guest to book hotels they manage rather than bump them from the platform altogether, especially if it's a problem booking.

I find it really strange that my home has not been booked considering how well it's ranked and how many views its had. If all inquiries get this error, then it may explain why.

Has anyone else had experience with this error message?

We're on a state park so we get a lot of Florida wildlife like Iguanas, ducks, turtles, snakes, herons, racoons, etc. No alligators, thankfully.

Well I think it's going to come down to how you stack up against your competition. If everyone in my market, especially my direct competitors, has that cleaning badge then I better follow suit.

I beleive they're going to start going live with the badge so we'll know soon.

AirBnB just released their new cleaning protocol standard and are trying to get hosts to commit to it. How many are going to opt in and get the badge on their listing? I'm not sure if you have to block a day between bookings to adhere to the CDC guideline of waiting 24 hours before entering after a guest leaves.

What is the expected yearly revenue from that one listed property?
