I will be moving in the next four to eight months. Most likely to Washington state around Everett. My wife and I are wanting to buy a home and we will live there for 2-3 years before we have to move again. I am just wondering how people find deals on homes to buy and what is the best way you have found in negotiating a price? I would love a mentor in this crazy world we call real estate some one that could help navigate buying and then turning to a rental and managing the property from a distance. Any and all ideas are very much appreciated.

@Luke Reninger what did you use to buy the properties with 0 down? Is that just the VA loan?

I am in the Navy and my wife and I are deciding on whether or not to buy a home. The military gives us an allowance for housing it changes depending on where we will live. I just wanted peoples opinions on this subject if anyone has experience with this? We will be moving between 3-7 years every place and so we will either have to sell it or get a property manager.

I feel that it will be a good thing to take advantage of, just want to make the best decision. This will be our first home we will buy and getting tossed into the real estate world.
