Buying a home and being in the military?
I am in the Navy and my wife and I are deciding on whether or not to buy a home. The military gives us an allowance for housing it changes depending on where we will live. I just wanted peoples opinions on this subject if anyone has experience with this? We will be moving between 3-7 years every place and so we will either have to sell it or get a property manager.
I feel that it will be a good thing to take advantage of, just want to make the best decision. This will be our first home we will buy and getting tossed into the real estate world.
Thank you for your thoughts and experience.

You aren't alone. There are tons of military service members that buy new houses every 3-5 years. I recommend getting familiar with the amortization schedule. After 3-7 years you have little equity in the home and are banking on appreciation for resale.
I have tons of friends that buy a new rental where ever they move and just make sure the numbers work out. Take advantage of the time and meet face to face with PMs while you live there. Hope this helps and good luck.
