Yep, we're pretty much US-only.

Require a minimum vote ratio of 0.8 or 0.7 to post and that would eliminate the spam, improve content, dramatically improve speed of use, and eliminate the dumpster comments.  Just depends if the site wants to cater to the true fan or to a larger audience (and both are viable models).  Quality vs quantity.

Good idea. That's shockingly close to a forums code change that I hope to land this month.

I'm seeing some chicken or the egg action here. How does one get to the 0.8 or 0.7 ratio if they are not allowed to post before getting to said ratio?

While we are on the topic of Votes, what's up with the Top 5 rankings? 18,039 puts your boy here at #4 all time.

It’s complicated and I can’t go into the details here, but there’s not a strict 1-1 vote count going on. That was too easy to game so we had to put some logic in place to negate that. For folks with high number of votes, the difference is minimal.

Same with the "vote down" button. Can't do that, but I often wish for one, when I see someone receiving horrible advice from someone with zero personal investments telling others what they should do..

Other social networks allow downvotes once you reach a particular karma threshold. I think that works pretty well and maybe something BP could incorporate here.

@Carlos Ptriawan thread summarization is actually a use case we studied, but haven't had a chance to really explore further. That's a heckuva lot cheaper than a chatbot. All I can say is stay tuned.

We’re aware of stuff going on with generative AI. We had an internal beta program last year that was good but not perfect, it almost made it out of beta.

We’re waiting for the hype to die down a bit and a clearer strategy to emerge before dumping a ton more effort into this. Costs are also a bit high right now and it’s a substantial investment, likely $1000s per day to run at a scale that would be useful to the community.

Hi @Amy Pfaffman have you had any more instances of this happening lately?
