I did a google search and found a list of REIAs across all states, looked up NC and found this one. Since you are moving to Garner, you will want to join the same one. Others are in the Charlotte area, this one is the closest. They have a main meeting once a month in Raleigh and subgroup meetings in other areas, south, north, west etc. I try to attend them all but some take an hour for me to get there so I don't always go.

Welcome to BP Ebony. I just moved to the Raleigh area this year too. Nice to see another local person on BP. If you find some properties you want to wholesale, add me to your list. Im looking for fix/flips and buy & hold rentals.

I recently moved to the Raleigh, NC area. As soon as I got down here, I joined the local REIA group. There are a few in the state, but the one near me is http://treia.com/. They are very much into training and education. They tend to stay away from the guru speakers. I recommend checking out the local REIA in your area and joining one here when you are done with the Army.

Must have you confused with someone else.

Maybe you can fund some rehabs in the area? Short term. High returns. Until you get enough cash to buy or something new pops up.

Have you looked at buying in St clair shores ? Specifically 48082? Your 80k purchase, rent $1100 would work there.

Yes, I'm a member. I try to attend all of the meetings, they have quite a few. Al Lowery was a pretty good speaker. Especially for a guru pitching his product. The subgroup meetings are more personal and where you will make better connections(I think). Maybe I'll see you around.

Surrounding yourself with like minded people is a very good idea. Just like being on BP.

So viewing others in RE as competition is something many new investor do. And it's wrong. There are so many deals to be had there is plenty to go around. Plus not everyone will be interested in the same market, city or neighborhood. Nor will everyone invest in the same thing, SFH mfhs, mobile homes, apts, notes , wholesaling, rehabbing etc. search for Brandon's list of over 100 ways to invest in real estate.

Why partner? United we stand, divided we fall? Forming partnerships are key to growth. Learning from others. Pooling money to invest in larger projects? I was asked to partner in a 3.5M mobile home park. Could never do that alone.

It's ok to play nice in the sandbox. Sharing is ok.

Welcome to BP. I'm in the Raleigh area too. Just moved here and looking at SFHs. Are you a member of the reia yet? Great place to network and get leads on deals.
