Welcome @Heather W. and @Luis Montanez !

@Luis Montanez As you mentioned previously, most of the high schools in East Cobb are rated highly. I have no idea about the particular school ratings but in West Cobb, where I live - Hillgrove, Harrison and Kennesaw Mountain high schools are well thought of by the parents in the area. We moved specifically to this area so my children could be in the Cobb County School District and go to McEachern High School and we are happy we did. Rumor has it things are not quite the same at McEachern now but it sure is a beautiful campus with quite a few new buildings. When Hillgrove opened not far from McEachern, I'm told quite a few top teachers and administrators went to Hillgrove. Marietta High School is also well thought of. Its in the Marietta School District as opposed to the others which are in the Cobb County School District.

@Rick Baggenstoss and @Joel Owens while it will be very convenient for me to see a Braves game in the future, I hate to see a major attraction like the Braves leave the center city of Atlanta. You have to admire the Atlanta Falcons for their commitment to building a new stadium near where they were before. I hope the Falcons and the city follow through on their promises to support the areas around the stadium. I don't mind going into the city to see a play or a game or anything - matter of fact I sometimes attend one of the churches that is having to move to make way for the new Falcons stadium.

@Rick Baggenstoss as someone who lives in Cobb County I think the Braves move is exciting! I know a lot of die hard Braves fans who can't wait. I will certainly go to more games after the move.

One report yesterday said real estate agencies have already been flooded with calls from investors about the area. The area was already doing well and property values should continue to rise with this news. I used to live and work in the area where the new stadium is going to be built - the only concern is traffic has been a bear for 20 years. The transportation authorities have 3 more years to figure it out.

@Jay Davis I believe I met you at the meetup in Atlanta. I do some marketing in your area but nothing that has produced any results yet.

@Aaron Yates I don't see anything wrong with what you are doing. The landlady I referred to asking for an application and fee prior to showing the property made me wonder if some sort of redlining was rearing its ugly head.

My daughter was looking for a place in Rochester recently and found one that looked interesting. Landlord said she needed application and refundable fee before she showed it to her due to recent crime in the area. We passed. Qualified tenants screen landlords as much as landlords screen tenants.
