What sparked my decision to work at doing this full time - good question. I enjoy restaurants and business in general but success for me required 60+ hours a week in addition to quite a bit of travel. My thinking is why not put that same effort into my local real estate market and see if I can be successful with it?

As far as restaurants I am not in the business anymore but I'm sure you know there are lots of really good ones here. I'm a fan of Two Urban Licks as well as Pappasito's.

Thanks @Joel Owens ! I appreciate the welcome and hope to run into you sometime. I usually attend the Atlanta REIA meetings as well as the West Atlanta subgroup.

I found this site after hearing about it from my local REIA and have really enjoyed the blogs and podcasts.

I am originally from Little Rock but Atlanta has been home for quite some time. I have been in the restaurant and movie theater business in Little Rock, Dallas and Atlanta.

I have dabbled in real estate off and on for several years with a couple of rehabs. My focus is on wholesaling in the NW Atlanta area where I hope to move from dabbling to making this a full time business similar to several members featured in some of your podcasts. I look forward to contributing and networking here. There is a BP Atlanta Meetup happening next week that I plan on attending.

My daughters live in Rochester, actually Henrietta, NY and I was there with them earlier this summer while they were looking for a 3/2 house to share with a friend. There are lots of bad areas and lots of rooming houses that appeal to college students but I did see lots of nice neighborhoods - not very many of those homes for sale or for rent. My daughters ended up in a 2/2 apartment in a large complex without the friend. It's an interesting market. Right now there are tons of school employees and college students looking for places to live. Good luck with your search.
