So if I'm reading this thread correctly, it seems most people are saying to rely on insurance for the first 1 - 5 houses, until there's an economies of scale which both make an LLC protection kick in, as well as offset the costs of running the LLC. Is that correct?

I'm in process of a slow soak of real estate investment knowledge.  I'm listening to the BP Podcasts and reading books at the moment.  A the moment my 5 - 10 year goal is to slowly buy single family or maybe small multi family homes until I can go part time with my day job if I desire.  Ultimate goal is complete income replacement.
