@Ben Walker thanks for the insight, I highly doubt that I’d be able to qualify for any loan without a co-signer from the feedback from others on here. It seems the options are pretty limited while still in school, I’d love to talk about it some time!

@Daniel Anshus I get what you're saying about wholesaling short-term. House hacking would probably be a better start given my situation. Getting the financing while still in school is definitely the biggest blockade for me at this point. Have you done any deals with college students in the past? If so what did they do specifically to finance their deals?

I'll start running some numbers on excel. I've done a little bit in the past with Zillow so I'm somewhat familiar with the process. Would using the MLS over a free service like Zillow or Redfin have any advantages as well?

@Daniel Anshus Down the road I want to be more into buy and hold investing, but I look at wholesaling as a better way to get into REI. I have a much greater interest in buying and holding properties admittedly. Do you think I should just focus my energy onto that?

I really like the idea of property underwriting as well. That's definitely right up my alley, how would you recommend studying and practicing it.

@Daniel Anshus I've gotten some more interaction through emailing a couple investment teams in the area. The main problem I'm running into is that I'm very unexperienced when it comes to DIY work as well. My main strengths in this field of work is I'm great with numbers and love interacting with others. I'm looking to get into wholesaling as well as buy and hold investing down the road, do you know any specific tasks that investors might be looking for some help with that a newbie would be able to take on?

Hello everyone, I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Stout studying Business Administration and Real Estate Property Management. I am looking to gain some experience in real estate investing and would love to intern, or just do some busy work for a local investor or investment firm. I am currently taking classes online from home in the Twin Cities area and will be here throughout the rest of the school year as well as the summer. If you know anyone who is looking for an extra hand, or would like to delegate some of your smaller tasks a response would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Hello everyone, I am currently a sophomore in college and have been reading about real estate investing for around 6 months now. I have recently realized that wholesaling may be the best way for me to enter the game of real estate due to the low risk and barriers to entry. I have been looking into the St. Paul/West St. Paul area and have been surfing through sold properties on Zillow to try to get an idea of what homes typically sell for. I still need to get more familiar with the wholesaling process before I really start looking for deals, but I am not sure what my real next step should be. Any advice on where I should go moving forward or opinions on the market around here would be greatly appreciated.

@Dell J. I am more so interested in investing. I plan on using a career in property management to fund my investments.

You say you're looking to get into the world of real estate. Can you elaborate? Do you want to manage buildings, flip houses, or something else?

I am interested in buying and holding small multi family and single family homes and using a career in property management to finance deals. I’ve been looking to get started by house hacking a property near campus and building upon that experience. I also have a lot of interest in managing larger commercial buildings but investing in something like that seems quite out of reach. Basically I’m unsure if my interests contradict each other and if I should shift my focus onto one specifically.
