Hey Cole,

Knowing and studying the market you are investing in is really important! It is difficult to look at "The Market" as a whole as it can very state to state, especially when you get into laws, taxes and lending! Picking a specific market and understanding trends from there by using local resources will be your best bet for success. With that being said, let me ask what specific market are you looking to invest in?

Hello all,

I am wondering from experienced folks, how to be a good private money lender- or rather protected.
what terms do you execute? How do you insure protection? Do you use a RE attorney to look over every document or just one specific one? At what point would you back

I use Directed IRA. Matt Sorensen (tax attorney) is a national speaker on educating about the topic of using SDIRAs for RE investing. He has a book out about it that is gold! Also, practices what he preaches. The costs is a flat fee to maintain it, unlike some other companies that charge you based on how much money you have in the account.

Hope that helps!

Hello,

I am seeking advice from experienced money lenders on how they structured terms, what entities used in regards to legal/tax, checklist/requirements on who to lend to, how they vet borrowers, documents asked for, and "penalties" for extension of loan, etc; additional resources on how to analyze deals, and if there is a different perspective for being the lender.

Advice specific to using Self-Directed retirement accounts for lending also appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Bekah

This is helpful, thanks you guys! I’m out to find the diamond in the rough! Using my business to support theirs and build lasting relationships. It’s hard, but actually fun because of how much you learn along the way!

What is the best process/searches for vetting contractors for projects? In a world of options, how can we narrow it down to the quality ones that aren’t raping pockets, and protect the future? Is there a particular process or rules

Thank you!
