Regarding home construction in Denver and the surrounding areas our business hasn’t slowed down. Haven’t had any homeowners back out on remodels and new builds are still going strong as of now till the end of April. Interested to see if people want to get those home projects they’ve been putting off done now that they’ll be at home more or if they’ll push it back or do it themselves since money may be tighter and they may not want people in their homes. I will say, Home Depot has been more crowded this past week. Best of luck to everyone and stay safe.

@James Brown did you get approved for the ADU? I recently purchased a property zoned the same here in Denver and from my research so far it doesn't seem likely that I'd be able to add one. I haven't talked with the zoning department at all yet.

@Dale Abella I had some family in laws just move out of my house after living there for 4 years. They did a few minor things to the house that they didn’t tell me about but took care of any maintenance issues for me along the way and went pretty well. They had 2 kids and 2 dogs there so there was more cosmetic damage than I would’ve liked but getting all that taken care of this month and have it already leased to one of my good friends for a year coming up in August. My first experience with family went well and see my 2nd experience now with a friend going well too. As long as you both are clear on everything and treat them as you would a normal tenant I don’t see the problem. Now I do have plenty of family members and friends that I know I would not rent to as well so I can see both sides on the matter. Best of luck to you.

@Maria Luna I’m actually doing something similar. I’m moving back to my hometown in Indiana for a while to get more involved with real estate. I love Colorado and everything it has to offer but I can set my self up very good for the future by making this move compared to trying and doing that here in Colorado. I’m going home to build up a nice team and relationships and however long that takes (I’m thinking 5-7 years) and then make my way back out west. Glad to see other people out there doing whatever it takes for them to succeed. Best of luck to you and your journey!

Been living in Colorado the last 4 years and absolutely love it! I’m a big outdoor enthusiast and love being able to do anything outside all times of the year. Planning on moving back to Indiana this fall to set myself up for the future and live there for probably 5-7 years and start a family and eventually make my way back out here.

I'd blow half of it on skydiving in cool places that I haven't jumped at already and the other half would be taking some friends and family to Octoberfest.

Hey guys first post on here and was hoping to get some opinions on metal roofs vs asphalt roofs as I couldn't find much info on BP about the comparison. From the research I've done so far I'm leaning towards a metal roof. The life expectancy for metal seems like anywhere from 50-100 years and asphalt is more like 15-30. Metal looks like it will cost more upfront but with not having to replace it (in theory) seems like it'll save me money down the road and if I ever decide to sell the property it will help the resale value as well. I'm 24 years old and this is my first property and plan on keeping it as a buy and hold investment for many years to come. I'm going to talk with some contractors in the next few days and see what they think as well. Would love to hear some opinions from the BP community on what you guys think. Thanks
