If you put in the sweat equity, sky is the limit in this niche of REI. Yes. I definitely suggest a mentor that can show you the ropes in your market. A wise man learns from the mistakes of other and having a mentor will show you how to avoid mistakes and waste time and money.

I would honestly look on craigslist  for a contractor and ask them to provide photos of previous work. But with that still take precaution. Good Luck!
