@Sam B. - great work! Great motivation of what can be accomplished in a short span of time if you have the right teams/systems in place as an OOS investor.

@Benny Morfas I would agree with what others have said and not buy this property

@Michael Wallimann - agree with you on the market prices and appreciation aspect of the properties upstate. I think its a cashflow play rather than appreciation.

@Stephen Burke - thanks for your reply. Can you share why the Beacon market is a good place to invest? Would appreciate any insights you have in that market.

Hi BP members - what is everyone's thoughts on the market in upstate NY, specifically Albany and Rochester?  Looking at the latest Census info :from a population growth perspective:

- Albany has grown by 1.43%  between 2010-18.

- Rochester has actually declined by 0.8% between 2010-18

Are these markets still attractive enough to invest from a buy and hold perspective?

I am just starting out, living in Long Island, working in NYC and looking to invest in nearby areas. Nothing around the five boroughs provides the cash returns to invest in (within my budget anyway) and hence am starting to explore other areas in upstate NY that I can drive to.

Cheers,

Mohit

Looking forward to attending!

Cheers,

Mohit

All,

Wanted recommendations on any financial advisors/CPA's you would recommend in the Long Island, NY area. I would like the person to be an investor themselves in the New York Long Island area as I want to discuss financial options, retirement etc in terms of real estate.

Cheers,

Mohit
