I'd love to read a blog from you!

Interesting idea, Bob. What do others think about that idea? I'm not certain that folks would want to share all of that info, but if people were interested in doing so, I think it could make a cool addition....

Anyone else?

I am sure that some people wouldn't want to put that information up, but as long as the fields were not required to submit the deal into your profile they could in essence redact any information they didn't want everyone to know about.

Maybe it would also be an option to make the deal only viewable by people you are "colleagues" with... This would give the user the ability to control the privacy of the deal a little more.... and again, it would be optional so you don't HAVE to put anything up, but if you wanted to, then more power to ya!

:groovy:

This has been a feature that has been around since January. Just go to your DASHBOARD, then click on EDIT PROFILE, and on the INVESTING TAB, you'll see that you can show how many deals you've completed, and how many you've got that are active.

Ok I checked out what you referenced and I see where you are talking about however that was not quite what I had in mind...

I was thinking it would be neat to be able to lay out the specifics of a deal (aside from typing them in the text boxes in the "Investing" tab. So you could put the city, sate, zip, purchase price, selling price (if applicable), operating expenses (if applicable), etc...

It would also be neat to lay out what deals you are actively working on (again with similar information) because maybe you are into a deal that someone else can help you with but you didn't know they could...

Thats more what I had in mind with my original post...

Ok well then since you just had to go ahead and add so many neat features I think I need to take some of my forum reading time and allocate it to web page exploration haha :P

Thanks!!!

As far as having a W2 form for the banks....

If you put your properties in an LLC, or any other corp, and then paid yourself that money from the corp as though it was a salary, would that not eliminate the bank saying "I want to see a W2"?

Is there a way to set the default value of "watch this topic" to "don't watch this topic"? That way I can specify to watch only a couple of topics instead of watching everything I post in?

However, if you know you are going to be a real estate investor and be self employed then going to law school is not necessary and will not help increase your income.

If you had a law degree with a focus in real estate I would think you would save quite a bit of money by not having to pay a lawyer... and subsequently increase your income.

However with that said... If you do that you may end up spending more of your time doing lawyer activities and less doing real estate investing which could be counter productive depending on your goals... You should really assess what you goal is with respects to real estate investing and think about how a law degree will affect that end goal (extra tuition cost, time, etc..)

After going to one of these and pretty much experiencing the same that Josh posted I have to think to myself... There would be GREAT money in offering a real estate expo that actually taught you stuff. Its to bad it has turned into just a money making scheme for guru's and the like because I feel that if there were some legitimate classes that actually imparted knowledge on you that would be worth more to everyone, and I would think more people would show up (We could call it the biggerpockets real estate expo :P )...
