Is additional schooling worth it?

Joe Smith
Posted

I am 21 years old and have been considering real estate investing for a while. I am a junior in college and have made up my mind, that this is what I want to do. It seems like there is a high earning potential, and I would love to be my own boss.

The downside is that I am a political science major, who's understanding of taxes is nil, and who's mathematical skills end at algebra.

I have always intended to go to law school. Now I am reconsidering.

Is law school a worthwhile investment of my time and money, with a focus on real estate law? Would I be better off reading up a lot and starting my business after college make more sense, than perhaps getting involved in an MBA program? Or just finish up my BA and don't waste my time with any more diplomas.

What do you all think?
