Thanks for your input, Brad.

Yeah, I have to find where I can find out if I need a permit to do so, and if so, what kind of permit? Are there any specific rules?

It's pretty common for houses in the area to have pool house. That's what I was trying to figure out: if I could buy a house with a kind of pool house or a separate unit, live in it, and rent out the house.

There's a lot that I need to learn and find out to see if it's something that I want to do to start my investing journey.

Hello,

I've been looking into different ways I could begin my investing journey, and I have been digging into house hacking.

I wanted to know if house hacking is a strategy that can be implemented in any suburb, county, city? I currently live in The Woodlands, Tx, and I would like to know if it is possible to house hack here. I am wondering because from what I've heard, the suburb makes it hard for a house owner to even cut down a tree. I'd like to be sure that this could be done here without any issues.

Also, I'd like to know if I can find this information somewhere or would I need to talk to a real estate agent?

Thanks in advance BP community!

Hello everyone!

My name is Arturo Garza and I am new to the Bigger Pockets community. I am enjoying the platform and am very grateful for the all content that's going to help me start my investing journey.

2 years ago I decided real estate investing was the path I wanted to take to be financially independent in my future and to be able do the things I really want to do without being in need of working a boring job. I have been slowly learning about real estate and will start walking the path when I feel ready.

I have been analyzing options (just for practice sake) to prepare myself and to learn how to correctly analyze deals so when the time comes I'll be ready to select my first deal (and subsequent deals). With that being said, I am wondering if there is an experience investor that could walk me through the process and help me learn how to evaluate deals.

P.S. I currently live in The Woodlands, Tx and I'd like to check out deals in other close areas (Conroe, Magnolia, Spring, Tomball, Oakridge, etc...).
