Welcome Vince! Are you located in Nova Scotia? We have a few meetups here which I would definitely recommend attending. Great opportunity to meet other real estate investors who are super helpful. Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions or if you just want to chat :)

Hi @Chris Challenger , we're meeting this Sunday in Truro. I'll be driving out if you want to tag along. There's another group that meets here in Halifax every couple months or so. The link for that one is posted above. Send me a pm if you're interested in joining us this Sunday!

@Sunil Katal Glad you're interested. You should definitely join us! There's also another meetup here in Halifax. Not sure if you've been to this one yet. The link's posted above but here it is again https://www.meetup.com/The-HRM-Real-Estate-Investor-Group/

I definitely think they're worth it. I always gain value from going and enjoy meeting other local investors (there's a lot of networking after the presentations). The last meetup was especially valuable as the investor who was presenting spoke on BRRRR investing which is the next step for me. It was really refreshing to hear in person someone speak on how to BRRRR a property and what they learned from the process.

If it's possible, come out to the next one. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I always leave feeling super motivated :)

@Kevin McFarlane & @Jake Wing the group Steven mentioned earlier has met a few times this year here in the HRM. I find the meet-ups great and always enjoy attending (although I know that these would be a little bit of a drive for the two of you).

I believe @Jeremy Zwicker may be interested in meeting as well. For anyone else who is interested, send me a message and we'll see if set up something for this month. We'll try to pick somewhere that is closest for everyone!

@Jeremy Zwicker Thanks!

@Steven Darrow Thanks for sharing that link. I saw that one and a couple other meetups as well but like you said, it doesn't look like the meetings have been frequent. I was thinking of bi-weekly or monthly meetups.

Hey everyone! I was wondering if there were some folks in Nova Scotia who would like to start meeting up on a regular basis? Doesn't have to be anything formal, I was thinking just meeting at a coffee shop or something. I believe all of us would find it valuable getting to know other local investors and networking with those who share the same interest investing in real estate!

I know most of the members from NS live in the HRM but I think there are also members in Truro, Windsor, New Glasgow and other smaller communities so we could vary where we meet to help accommodate other members.

Just a thought I had. Let me know if you're interested!

Hey everyone! My name is Anthony Sartor and I'm finally jumping into real estate. I first had the itch for real estate when I was 19 in my second year of university. I wanted to buy a rental property but became discouraged when the bank wouldn't give me a mortgage (they actually wanted me to have a stable source of income lol). Since I was a student with no one to co-sign for me, I didn't think there were any other options at the time and put real estate investing on the backburner. If only I had found BP back then!

Anyways, I'm now working full-time as a Registered Nurse and will be purchasing my first rental property in the next 90 days. It will be a multi-family property (most likely 2 to 4 units) and I will be occupying one of the units myself. I have zero experience in real estate but feel that buy and hold will suit me best. I'm also hoping to try out the BRRRR strategy in some of my future deals.

My main goal is to connect with as many members on BP as I can and help others in their endeavours while learning about real estate investment myself. Looking forward to everything this great site and community have to offer! See you around BP!
