Would it still be smart to at least know how to do the math on your own but still use the analysis tool for deals?

From a real estate investors stand point has anyone ever heard about becoming an unlicensed real estate agent assistant? This of course would be after you have built rapport with an agent and would like to not only finally get access to MLS but help your agent by funneling deals to them as a "payment" of being an assistant under their name.

I found a video on it what do you guys think? Is this a common practice?

Has anyone heard about being an agents assistant? You're unlicensed but you get access to MLS.

I finally found a video on it.

So I’ve searched the interweb and everything but I just can’t figure out what mote investing is or what a note is... from what I gather is a note an iou to a bank? Then an investor comes around and buys said note, discounted, from the bank so now the borrower is paying the investor?

Newby here....

@Seth Ferguson see I was thinking the same thing while trying to get my one year old ready for bed 😏. I feel like instead of trying to find my own access to MLS and wrap myself around something I'm going to quit anyways… I should focus my efforts on finding a really good agent (prederably one who understands RE investing) like you said, who can help me.

Do I need to be a Real Estate agent to get MLS access? Would I only need to get my license and just renew? What about REA association fees, would I need those? Im still struggling with the idea and thinking I just want to be an investor.

@DeAngelo S. It's funny that you mention that because I was actually thinking of going that route… I assume I would have to find a good real estate agent who could search out a couple of deals that involved a Plex maybe do the numbers and see if it will work… I honestly had no idea I could use the VA loan for a duplex that's awesome. Maybe I can find a real estate agent or investor who can point me in the right direction in Lakeland.

@DeAngelo S. I totally understand what you’re saying, fortunately I’m currently renting so I don’t have to worry about that right now.
