@Eric Harnden That's some EXCELLENT advice on taking a DISC assessment. I've heard David and Brandon talk about this tool on deciding what type of individual you are and the type of people you need to have in your corner to uplift your weaknesses. When they spent a majority of time on a podcast episode dedicated towards this concept, I knew that I needed to know more about it and myself.

@Jay Hinrichs It's interesting that you said - real estate appraisers are aging out. I've been pushing myself (with assistance from others) to get my real estate agents licenses. The plan is become an agent however with your comment, I am thinking to perform both duties as a certified appraiser and agent. Do you think there would be a conflict of interest? Thanks for your time.

@Jonathan Jackson  I've recently been getting involved in this space and was told to work around with how your budget/time allows you. REIskip.com has worked very well for us however if your on a tight budget then try truepeoplesearch.com. All the best!

@Lynnette E. I've come across a real estate agent who also conducts business as a wholesaler. Do you think they're acting outside of the boundaries of their fiduciary duty? It seems to me as long as they inform who there procuring the sale, it shouldn't be an issue. right?

Hey BP community,

I am curious who plans to attend the Real Estate Wealth Expo in San Mateo, CA event next month (Oct 10-11). It certainly seems like a great opportunity to meet like minded individuals and learn from those who have key insights into marketing through various means of impactful content. Let me know your thoughts on how you thought of the venue if you attended this event in another state. Thanks in advance!

@Jeff Berry These are some great steps to get on track with starting with little to no money with real estate. Awesome advice!

It is true you have to know what cards you are playing with.

1). Figure out you WHY. Why do you want to invest in real estate? Not because of the money but something much bigger, what is that to you?

2). Make a budget and a personal financial statement, its probably going to be ugly in the beginning more like showing you how much debt you truly have, IF, you take a hard look at yourself. - There are examples in the file section of BP or message me for some examples.

3). Read as much as you can on the topic of Millionaire mindset. You have to think big to achieve big. - Pretty good selection on BP website or local library.

4). Listen to podcasts instead of the radio or watching the game. (This was the most difficult for me in the beginning as football is life). - There is a pretty good selection on BP

5). Browse through the information on BP, you will be amazed at the amount of information available for free. And when you get your finances in order to spend a little extra there is a ton more information as a Pro member.

6). Attend local REIA's in your area. Get around people doing what you want to do. Most first meetings are free to attend. - You can find them on BP website or a meetup like website.

7). Get educated in what it means to invest in real estate, first! - A ton of material on BP website.

It is true that you cannot invest in real estate without knowing where you are financially and correcting any of the discrepancies that are in need of attention. How can you get your finances in order if you were never taught what that means. Do some basic math to figure out what you are working with and develop a plan to get you to your why.

But that is what is truly great about investing in real estate, if everyone would just educate themselves on the topic, it really is that simple. Simple, but not easy!

My recommendation, follow Uncle G., Grant Cardone everywhere you can find him. Tune into BP podcasts and the free Webinars that are given weekly. You will begin to realize what you have to do in order to invest in real estate.

Good luck! Stay positive!

Jeff

@Christian Rojmar You explained some great ones that I recommend to people who ask me some books to start on. I began with reading Rich Dad Poor Dad like most others but when I read the Book on Investing in Real Estate with no and low money down and The book on rental property investing by @Brandon Turner a light bulb went off. They opened my eyes to so many other possibilities like structuring seller financing, attracting private money, creative investing and so much more. I like how he outlines the book in a play by play concept that teaches you some great fundamentals.

I've heard some great reviews about The BRRRR book by @David Greene however I'm still digesting his 1st book on Long-Distance Real Estate Investing. Its somewhat worded with concepts that he explains in depth but its worth adding to your collection of real estate related knowledge.

I have more that I dove in to but I mostly lead people to start with these to get a foundation. All the Best!

@Mindy Jensen I really enjoyed ordering my 90 day Intentional Journal back in December. It seemed to jumpstart my outlook on what I thought I was doing vs. what my daily actions portrayed. Also, to setup those weekly battle plans was golden as it made me become accountable within my mastermind group. Thanks so much @Brandon Turner and rest of BP...looking forward to the new addition!

I'm unsure if you've received any feedback (off-line) however we're currently living out of state with rentals. I am not getting paid to say this but David Greene's book on investing in out of state was great. Yea, its a little wordy but it served the purpose by assisting us when we need some light reno work. Spending $20 on the book saved me so much more!!! All the best!

@Orlando De Los Santos I've been in analysis paralysis mode when it comes to investing in real estate using these online platforms. Was there any concerns you have, looking back, you wished someone told you about? It will certainly be awesome to get some insight from those who aren't affiliated with the company.
