@Tim Uittenbroek  -

Welcome to BP from the other side of the world.  My wife is Indonesian (although she is very Americanized) and her mom travels frequently to Indo for her business.  As of lately, I have really been kicking around the idea of investing in Indo.  Do you have any plans to do the same there?  What's the market like in Indonesia?  Thanks!!  and WELCOME!!

Welcome @Candy Quirino !  I'm fairly new here, as well, and this is a fantastic place to learn.  I'm in the Austin area, so not too far from you!

This is great information.  I live in Austin and partner with a colleague who lives in Houston. I WISH WISH WISH I would have found my passion 5 years ago.  I lived Cameron/51st area and have watched property prices skyrocket all over the city.  North Burnet (north of 45th) is gaining popularity, too.

LOL!  You already know!  It was a good job, but just that...a job.  This transition is moving into a career fueled by passion and ambition.

Thanks James.  I wish something in finance for AT&T but actually, no. lol!  I worked retail sales when I first started (back then it was still Cingular) and eventually ended up in a management role for the last 3+ years.  Honestly, I found myself staring out of the window the majority of the time knowing I was ready for a change.  I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit, so I suppose I couldn't fight it any longer.  Originally, my plan was to become an agent with Keller Williams...but...almost a year down the road and I am finding where my true passion is...the creative side of real estate!

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here at BP. My name is Andrew, I'm 32, and my wife and I live out here in Austin - Central/West. A little about me: I have a degree in Finance and a degree in Banking & Financial Institutions, worked for AT&T for approx 8 years until I left in February. Since then, I have been reading, studying, and applying all things finance/investing/real estate/asset acquisition...This includes taking 8 years of 401k savings and moving them to a Self Directed IRA so I may now make and structure my own investments.

Anyhow, I had a friend tell me about this site and I must say...ITS AWESOME!  For a guy like myself, interested in learning (and regurgetating) as much as humanly possible in regards to above mentioned topics of interest, this site is truly one of a kind.

I'm here for a couple of reasons.  #1 - I recently incorporated a Wholesaling Business and work with a partner who is based in Houston.  Together, we focus primarily on distressed properties and we are close to closing our first deal.  #2 - The most important reason I am here is to network with as many investors as possible to learn as much as I can from tenured investors and educators alike.

I am an open book with a pen ready for any pointers, guidance, recommendations, information or anything else in regards to real estate education.

Thank you for reading if you've made it this far.  I get carried away when I'm excited.  I look forward to the journey ahead.
