I am looking to invest in Indianapolis. I live OOS and this seems like a good market to start in. I am heading to there this weekend to get to know the neighborhoods and maybe look at some properties. What neighborhoods should I check out. I am looking for both STR and long term rentals.

Tampa is now pretty hot and probably past the good point of entry. So I'd look at the areas between Tampa and Orlando. Lots of people are getting priced out of Tampa and moving farther out.
