No, Facebook groups are usually slow for me. Thumbtack is like a Facebook group in that you'll see all the reviews in there

Hello,
The taxes on my property have surged and I'm looking for a tax appeal attorney in East Orange or Essex County area. Would appreciate any referrals!

Try Thumbtack. I found a good plumber in there although he's no longer on Thumtack.

Congrats on your purchase!  First generation home buyer at 26, wow!

My son (who had a mentor) - bought a Duplex in Bridgeport, PA and lives upstairs, rents out the downstairs.

The next steps- rehab, rent, and research the next deal.  Ryan is pointing you in the right direction.  (But I have two “pro-tips” that will make you a millionaire by 30.)

Thanks Christopher! Love it- what are the two "pro-tips?"

Looking for a Cost Segregation CPA specialist for my first 2-family property in Northern Jersey!

Quote from @Dominic Rosato:

Cash flowing in Jersey City?? Thats awesome, congrats! Paying down principal can be a good idea, if it's your primary residence, you are extremely risk averse, and are not planning to purchase new investments anytime soon. BiggerPockets users don't usually fit that description (me included).

Building your emergency fund and fixing up the property would be a great use for that extra cash flow. I'm sure you'll thank yourself later!

haha - I'm in JC now but the prop is right outside of Newark. I think it's still possible though to cashflow in JC but in the Lincoln Park area!

Hi guys-
I'm closing on my first 2-family investment this week. As someone who did put in quite a lot in over-ask (the property was selling for $580k and I got it at $620k), I'm wondering how a new construction will affect my property value? There's a new multifamily right on the side of my house and then there's 2 vacant plots of land right across the street that looks like they'll be building new soon. My current 2-family investment is  a turnkey investment so not much work was needed to renovate, except the basement I will be renovating since it's unfinished. Would love some experienced foresight here

Hi all,

I'll be closing on my first 2-family this week and did some initial estimates and realized I'll probably be positively cash flowing anywhere $200-$500 a month. I'll be moving into the basement next year and will need to do some roof work, but am curious to hear some opinions on if I should pocket that extra cash for those home improvements or if I should go ahead and put it into principal payment? I do have the long term goal of cash-out refi in about 2-3 years.

Jersey City, NJ! Expensive to get into but you'll have astounding appreciation.

Hello all,

I'm closing on my first multi-family in a few weeks just outside of Newark, in East Orange, NJ and am a first-generation homebuyer in the states, wondering where can I make connections in multifamily.

I'm a Newark native and have been in Jersey City for the last 7 years, where I have invested in my education and career to achieve what I've always wanted by my mid-20s- a six figure career in the city.

Now that that's done, I'd really like to go full-throttle into my life-long goal, multifamily/apartment building investing. Newark and JC are hot markets right now which I've been following closely but have been incredibly difficult for me to get into especially after the pandemic due to the all-cash investors and higher net worth individuals moving into the area.

I'd really like to learn how to scale and feel really confident I can do so in either city, but have come to realize there's much too much to learn and doing so by reading online will take forever. College- I've figured out & done on my own, my corporate career- I've also done on my own, now it's time to really put myself out there.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
