Post: Real Estate Courses and Masterclasses

I just recently attended a 3 day workshop on real estate.  On the 2nd day of this workshop I found out the intent of the organization was to get to join a master class which would have cost me about 30k.  How many of you have actually attended similar workshops only to find out that you have to buy into some type of class or course?  Was it worth it?  Were you able to use what you learned to upscale your business and/or buy your first property?

The key for me is to look into all options.  It's better to have a team, and a few of these turnkey providers have a team, already in place.  When you're thinking about purchasing out of state you have to have a team so it's not just about finding someone to manage your property.

@Account Closed Today there are so many gurus on youtube and fb selling a program or some type of system or a coaching business you have to be very careful not to be taken advantage of.  I've either read it somewhere or heard it that the most successful investors spend the majority of their time investing.  Some of them like Than Merrill have courses, and I believe you get to meet him and others like him face to face.  Anyone that's very successful, you will be able to meet them, like Robert T Kiyosaki from Rich Dad Poor Dad who took just a simple course, did the work from the course and just kept learning and repeating the same steps.

I'm a newbie as well, and you're right there is a lot of information to absorb.  Good luck and keep us posted.

Post: Character and Integrity is important when looking for a mentor

I was listening to a podcast here on BP where Brandon was talking about learning the business from experienced investors and what you should do when asking someone to be your mentor.  As a newbie investor myself, I don't care how much knowledge or experience someone else has, if they lack character and integrity it would be extremely difficult for me to trust them.   What would be an indicator that you could immediately recognize that shows a person has no character and lacks integrity if you're asking them to be your mentor?   Are you able to assess this immediately or do you have to get to know them before making that judgement?

@Vinod Badami, thanks for the info, I'm definitely in the research mode and gathering as much information as I possibly can.

@Bradley Sriro , I've already put JWB Capital on my radar and will definitely have some questions for you later.  Thanks again for responding.

@Mike D'Arrigo, hey again, I did have the opportunity to look through your website and I'm taking the time to review all information, thanks for the extra information I'm definitely taking notes.

@Gregg Cohen, you definitely gave me some additional information to consider.  Thanks again for responding.

@Chris Gomes, I agree with others on this post, check the laws in your state, check with your attorney if the other party backs out, you may be on the line to purchase since you are the one who initially signed as the buyer.  Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome.

@Evan Polaski, everything that you mentioned is the reason why I created the post.  I was looking to see if others here had any experience with turnkeys and/or knew of other companies.
