I am happy to work hard if someone gives me work to do that I don't hate

I really appreciate all the comments on here and the realism. Yes, the depression, or actually bipolar, that I struggle with is serious enough to make to hard to hold a normal job and has left me in the hospital before. I've also had enough with psychiatrists, medications, therapists, etc. Maybe I'll try doing hourly work for one of these tech companies. Is anybody in this forum in the tech industry? And yes, I'm sick and tired of getting no where. The things I'm passionate about don't pay money. My strategies aren't working out. Maybe it's a matter of networking because I do not have many connections nor do I know the right people. What would be some other marketable skills to develop? That i could put on a CV?

Thanks. I appreciate the criticism. I don't sleep 11hours a day because I'm lazy and don't want to work it's because depression honestly

@Thomas S. 18 hour work days?? Are you serious? That sounds completely awful. There is no chance. I sleep 11 hours/day. @Cornelius Charles What is a JV type deal? And by flip you mean that you invested in a property that you have fixed up and resold for a profit? It seems like Southern California is too competeitive for me, and stressful. Do you know of any good meetups to check out?

I think that's a good point though. I need a place to live so I can focus and get my priorities in line. What about internatioanl investing? Is it less competetive to get into a market outside the United States, for example, Portugal?

Well, thanks for the advice, and some subtle criticism. I suppose I'll start with networking events and fake til I make. I have a couple button downs.

What do I have that will give me an advantage? Hmm, I am smart (in some ways) and become extremely obsessive with interests. So, if I want something then I will not be happy until I have it so that is a good motivator. As far as business skills- I am not a great communicator or negotiator. I am quite shy so putting myself out there is extremely difficult. Maintaining relationships is hard. What sort of business skills are necessary to do well in this industry?

Thanks for the bank account advice. I'll look into local credit unions

Thanks. Yeah, I don't know why I don't have my own bank account. Because I have been a bum. I have some part time work but looking for more..  Any advice for where to find a job in San Diego? I have some work in Escondido for the moment. My background is in geology.

I know they are expensive places but they are my favorite spots (I am a rock climber and a surfer) so I will continue living in my car until I'm 65 rather than move to Ohio, haha. Maybe not realistic :/ But yes, I agree- rock bottom is probably the biggest motivator. Thanks for your welcome! :)

Also, any advice on opening bank accounts? I want my own bank account seperate from my parents who are controlling and manipulative.
