@Thomas S. Thanks again Thomas. Your right, I do have a phone, car and such. Phone is company owned so I don’t pay it and I live in the suburbs so not having a car makes it incredibly expensive to take a taxi to get into town for work. I don’t drink or smoke so that saves money and I work too much to need tv. I’m not going to exaggerate and say I save every penny but I don’t spend money on anything that isn’t necessary to keep me working, keep me healthy or improve my education. But I really appreciate the advice because now I’d like to see if there’s anything that isn’t essential I can remove.

@Thomas S. Great advice! I have some substantial student loans. I put away what I can. I agree completely with the get rich slow process. My main priority is talking to other investors and purchasing my first house hacking property to save on living expenses

@Ty Frankel thank you for the advice! This is exactly what I plant to do in the future but I’m just starting out and don’t know a lot of that myself.

I hear a lot of guests on the podcasts say that it’s possible to invest on the side when working a full time job. I’m in a unique situation in my company where I’m expected to work 75+ hours a week. With 14-16 hour days, 6 days a week I’ve found it difficult to get a good head of steam on analyzing and networking along with doing the bare minimum of sleeping to keep me functional. I’m only 21 so I don’t feel overwhelmed at all by this but it feels like I’m progressing at a snails pace. Can anyone relate to my experience and if so, how have you worked through it?

Thank you so much everyone! @Michelle Shriver I'm attending a New Years event next month in a REIA within driving distance. @Aaron K. thank you for the advice as well. I've looked at two properties this morning but I'm searching craigslist at the moment. I'm contacting an agent soon to get a list from the MLS to get properties to crunch numbers on more efficiently and start building a market picture for myself. Thanks again everyone!

Thank you @Aaron K. Im looking for multi-family houses. Mainly to do a live-in flip and rent during as well as after. I enjoy traveling and tend to move more times than not every two years. My finances aren’t amazing so I haven’t been serious about investing to this point but the more I think about the time I’m loosing, the more I understand I need to work hands on with flippers and especially investors who hold. I’m not looking for a mentor (unpaid job) but I’d love to just dive into the middle of the process and absorb what’s going on.

Hi all! I’m Alex. I have absolutely no experience in buying or selling houses in any capacity but i am your typical patient of analysis paralysis. I’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, talked to the people but never went out and looked at the properties or analyzed any deals. Which I hear is the best way NEVER to get started. So... I’d like to just post a thread and let everyone know that I am ready to work my butt off for anyone and everyone in exchange for an hour call/Skype/coffee to pick your brains. Have an awesome Christmas everyone!

So I met with a local investor today! It went great!! The guy was extremely smart, and I received several great tips. If anyone is in the Milwaukee area or Wisconsin in general I would love to talk about REI. Exciting day for a new real estate investor!!! Have a great day everyone!

Thank you everyone! I’ve been interested in Real Estate since before I graduated highschool but I’ve been stuck in the analysis paralysis phase of my investing career. I’m fortunate enough to work in a company that allows me to listen to the podcast while I work which allows me to learn every day. I believe that I’m ready to network confidently and that it will be the break through point in this phase for me. If anyone has any tips about networking and bird dogging for others i will gladly implement any advice given. I hope to contribute to anyone starting in real estate as well as those already successful. Thanks again to everyone!

I’ve found Bigger Pockets invaluable and educational. I’m like most newbie investors because I don’t know what I don’t know but I’ve bought all of the bigger pockets books and most of the books suggested by the podcast guests to study and reference. I’ve found Investing in Real Estate 7th Edition and What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cashflow and 36 Key Financial Measures to help me understand the concepts of analysis by leaps and bounds. I also love the Book on Estimating Rehab Costs to be extremely informative. I read and take notes on 40 pages from these books and more every single day and I’m ready to take my next step. I’ve spoken to the owner of the company I work for about my passion in Real Estate and he’s set up a lunch meeting with a local investor. If anyone has any tips on what I should ask and how I should present myself I would greatly appreciate it! I believe I know enough about real estate to have an educated conversation with Thisbe investor but I’m not sure about how I can learn moreover about the markets around my area and everything I don’t currently know haha. Thank you Brandon and Josh for changing my life!!! Keep up the amazing work you do!!!
