@Michael Geiger Hey Michael! I’m sort of in the same boat as you. I’m in the Oakland County area. Not sure if I should house hack in a single family or go for the multi family right away. I’d love to talk one on one about influences on your decision making and what your goals/plans are. Maybe we can help each other.

Stay safe and have a great day!

@Wendy Patton Thank you. I’d appreciate any help that can be thrown my way!

I believe I would like to start by buying a duplex/triplex in a safe area within the Metro-Detroit Area as that is where I work currently and living in one unit temporarily. Not a lot of duplex options in my area right now that I’m seeing at least in the current market but I do have to save some more money for down payment.

Hello! My name is Alexandra Hagerman. I’m living in Farmington Hills, MI and I’m 25 years old.

I'm completely new to the world of REI. I've always been interested in real estate but never took the plunge as to actually getting my license or pursue it as a career until now. I'm in school to get my bachelor's in Human Resources and work at my family's business full-time. I don't think I make enough to buy a home at this moment. My savings are not great as I am paying off some remaining student loan debt ($4k) but I'm saving as much as I can between that.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about REI while pursuing my degree. Is there anyone that can give any advice for me as to what I can do while saving up the funds to buy my first property? Any book and podcast suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any REI experience in the Southeast Michigan area I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day and thanks for reading!
