@Matthew Olszak I haven’t received any paperwork regarding these violations the way I found out about these violations was by looking up on the city website, so Honestly I wouldn’t know if this is Administrative Notice of Violation resulting to an Administrative hearing. How would I find that out?

@Matthew Olszak ok that sounds scary. Would they want to see all 4 units?

@Steven Lowe well looking at the violations very thoroughly these are basically it. But yes I do have a 4 unit place, but not my main residence.

Violations

CN104015 : replace broken, missing or defective window panes (13-196-550 A)

CN131026 : repair or replace defective screen.(13-196-560 B)

CN190019 : Arrange for inspection of premises. (13-12-100) Most apartments-no response,unverified detector,and conditions.

CN197019 : install and maintain approved smoke detectors (13-196-100 thru 13-196-160) Front interior stairway-missing smoke detector.Center interior stairway-smoke detector out of service.

Those are basically all the violations I got. Do I still have to take out an easy permit to correct these violations.

@Josh Bakhshi it does seem like the city is flexing their muscles on me. But I still don’t know if I should take out city permits to replace my windows. I mean I can replace them myself but I don’t want to get into more trouble with the city.

Hey people has anyone dealt with Chicago city violations. I just got recently hit with Chicago city violations with exterior violations like window replacements and owner ID sign missing. I never dealt with Chicago city violations first timer and I am panicking. I don’t know if I need permits to replace my windows?
