I am buying a new construction house in Houston, Texas and I just found out that with new houses you can have your own inspector go check on the houses during different stages of the process not just at the end when it is completed. Do I need to notify the seller that I have an inspector that will be going to check on the progress of the house? Seller is very short on email communication and it is frustrating because my realtor is also not being proactive. Any advice helps thanks!

@Wale Lawal I am interested

Hello BiggerPockets community! I have been learning about real estate investing for the past month or so, listening to podcasts, watching webinars, reading forums. Last night I was looking at the real estate deals listings and I came across a rental house that seems interesting to me. It is in a small city, not an A/B neighborhood but I lived in that city before and I know houses in that neighborhood are steady rentals. I know I can come up with the down payment for the house and then continue renting it since according to the seller, it is currently being tenanted. My question is, I have never started let alone close on a real estate deal, like I said I just started learning (I started investing in stocks in January and in July I encouraged myself to learn about real estate) about this so I know I need more practice on "running the numbers" on a property (the calculators here are great help though) so is it too soon to start with an investment?   Is there an ideal time to actually invest in a property after you study and learn? What else could I be doing to be fully prepared? I really appreciate your help on this :)

Hello everyone!! My name is Alan and I am new to the real estate investing (REI) scene. I found out about Bigger Pockets through their podcast about a month ago just as I was finishing reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and I knew it was a sign for me to really start investing. I am hungry to learn more and put that learning into action! I have read some posts on the forums and I see how incredibly supportive and helpful the BP community is so I know I am in the right place to begin my journey. I would love to connect with any of you to help me understand more on REI. I am currently located in the Houston area. Any starting out advice (from square zero) is much appreciated :). Hope everyone is having a great day!
