@Jesus Roman It's interesting, definitely thought Houston would be a big short term rental market given it's size and location. But nonetheless, very helpful. Thanks!

@Kris Wong I completely agree. The growth in Cincinnati is what attracted me there in the first place. Since you obviously know Cincinnati a lot better than me, are there any areas you would absolutely avoid for buy and holds?

@Nathan Fisher @Anna Sagatelova

Thank you both for the insight! I'll have a look at Cleveland as well. With how the state varies from county to county, I'm all for diversification. Can't go wrong with solid, steady cash flow!

@Tanvir Sattar

Hey Tanvir, I certainly am considering Cincinnati. I’m looking into Columbus, but would like to invest in The Queen City as well for diversification. Did not know about that new law, thank you for sharing!

@Steven Wilson

Thanks for sharing the numbers. And I agree, it’s worth paying slightly higher taxes if the cash flow is higher and if the city and infrastructure are properly run and maintained

@Remington Lyman@Brandon Goldsmith @Zeke Liston Thank you all for the insight! Will be looking into Colombus for sure, as well as some of the tax abatement programs available. Cheers!

Hi All,

I own a few Buy & Holds in Upstate New York and am looking to expand into a more landlord-friendly state. I've heard great things about Ohio and the Midwest in general. I also see certain cities like Columbus have had a decent amount of appreciation within the past couple of years. I'm decently familiar with the Cincinnati and Dayton markets, but am open to investing anywhere in the state where the numbers make sense.

The only thing I'm not too certain about is property taxes, as they can vary quite a bit throughout the state. So I'm curious what are some good areas for investing in Buy & Holds with decent appreciation and reasonable property taxes?

If anyone can share some of their numbers so I can get a better idea of what I would be looking at, that would be great!

Thanks

Thank you all for your input! I decided to try cash for keys and it worked; the tenant moved out.
