Post: Rental Market in Cheyenne

Hello everyone,

I live in Fort Collins Colorado but I work in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I have one rental in Fort Collins but man these prices are steep! I'm thinking about buying a rental in Cheyenne and was wondering anyone has had any experience in that market. I was also thinking about purchasing it as a second home and using it to stay in for work at times and an Air BnB/STR for the remainder. It would save me on the down payment. Any thoughts are advice? Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all the advice. Anyone know a good realtor and mortgage broker? As I said, were from Colorado.  @Brandon Booth by invest I mean we will live in the property but we are also looking for something with the potential to appreciate. A friend had mentioned North Park. @Justin R. I agree, I moved to Colorado because I need trees and mountains. I do think I would be happier a little more north. Do you have any towns that you think are a good value? Thank you again everybody!

We are considering investing in a new primary in California(we currently live in Colorado). We are in San Diego looking at surrounding communities but haven't found anything so far. We would actually prefer to be further north. Anyone have any  advice for us? We are looking to stay under 600. We don't want to be right on the ocean but not inland either. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

@Steve Shafer @Zac Wilkinson @Adam Eaton

Thank you again for all you advice. Unfortunately I am not zoned for an AirBnB according to the new regulations. I am considering a short term furnished rental(longer than 30 days) as I think that is allowable. If anyone has any thoughts on this I would appreciate hearing them. I'm thinking for traveling nurses/therapists. I'm an occupational therapist and we have travelers that have had a difficult time finding appropriate housing. Thank you!!!

@Account Closed I'm sorry to hear that. I thought was making a comeback with all the new waterfront business. Thanks so much!

Hi! I am VERY new at this. I have one rental in Fort Collins Colorado that is currently being renovated. This market is so expensive that I feel like buying another one here would take longer than I would like it to. My husband is originally from Buffalo, NY and so we know that area well. I found a company online called Buffalo Turnkey Properties. They have an A+ rating with the BBB and are accredited. Properties are crazy cheap out there and Buffalo is making a come back(we always knew it had good bones!). Does anyone have any thoughts on this company or investing in Buffalo in general? Thanks!

@Steven Shafer, I don't know if that worked. This is great information. I skimmed the regulations and I didn't see what boulder has-that you have to be living on the property? One more thing I'd like to ask.....

My property is not in old town but just south of harmony on college. Do you think there would be a market for STR there? Thank you so much.
