Help finding a California town

We are considering investing in a new primary in California(we currently live in Colorado). We are in San Diego looking at surrounding communities but haven't found anything so far. We would actually prefer to be further north. Anyone have any  advice for us? We are looking to stay under 600. We don't want to be right on the ocean but not inland either. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

Hi @Aimee Lawrence you may want to check out the South side of the 92056 zip code. Technically Oceanside, but it's that tri city area near Carlsbad and Vista. A good starting point to drive around would be Shadow Ridge / Cannon. I think you can find several great options in some nice neighborhoods at or below that price point.
