Hi is anyone familiar with the Knoxville market? I’m visiting next weekend and wanted to take a look at some opportunities near the university as a possible rental investment. I can afford something up to 300k with financing assuming my payments are around the $1500/month mark. Can I realistically pull a profit here? Any info on the city would be great!

Hello - suppose I wanted to purchase a fixer upper with an FHA loan and provide some repairs to the house. What would be the best way for me to then benefit from the new after repair value of the home? Should/can I refinance through a traditional loan? Assume I am house hacking and I'm living in the home as my primary residence.

Thanks!

Hi All,

I am a new investor based in Long Island, NY  looking to take my first steps towards financial freedom via RE investing. I've spent some time on forums and now I am getting to the point where I want to begin my journey. I'm still struggling the different sorts of financing options at my disposal and how i would scale off of that. I also have some markets in mind but not sure what is the right one for me. Honestly so many questions!

Hi Everyone!

I am a first time investor with vacation rental in Orlando. I had guests in the house for all of Feb and saw a huge spike in my gas bill this month. I usually see a bill for ~$250 but this month it was $716! I know gas prices are up so I wanted to know if other owners in the area have seen a similar jump or are my guests going crazy, it's probably a bit of both but I want to make sure.

Thanks!

I would definitely get a plumber that handles gas out there. I'm about a hour away if you'd like someone to go check it out or be there to meet someone I'm sure we can figure something out.

Thanks BJ! I‘ll let you know if I’m going to take you up on it. Gonna see how this bill looks.

@Adam Bhatti have you asked the other owners in the area? Gone over to check for gas smell, look at the meter, etc?

Hi Malcomb- I live in another state so it’s hard for me to verify. It’s why I came here :)
