Hi, I am looking for a good contractor for a remodeling project in Murfreesboro NC. I am looking to reorganize my kitchen and open a wall to turn the adjacent room into a dining room. Does anyone have any good contractor recommendations for this kind of project around this area?

To start off, there is nothing wrong with sounding inexperienced on here. I think most of the people on here are in the same shoes you are, myself included. If you check out the stuff in the learning section, they have published some great how to guides for getting started in flipping houses, finding property managers, and much more. I have read through several of them and everything I read was very helpful. If you still aren't sure run a search in the forums and you are sure to turn up more of the same info. They have some pretty good blogs on here ad well. If you don't think that stuff is enough you can check out the local REIAs too. TRIG is about the only one I have really heard anyone talk about on here for the area. I hope this helps you out, and if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. I know there are some other members in the area who are pretty active on here.

Welcome to the site. There is tons of info on here, but not a ton on the local area. In my experience so far people have been pretty helpful. Have you been to any REIA meetings in the area yet? I haven't made it to any yet, but from what I've heard the TRIG meetings are supposed to be pretty good. Good luck, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

It is always a good idea to make sure that you have a couple good options in case things don't work out though. I just reread one of the posts on management companies in the area and the info on here just seems pretty sparse for the subject.

I am new to investing in the Hampton Roads area and was looking for some references for good mortgage brokers and/or recommendations for property management companies in the area. I have seen a few posts about some property managers, but there seems to be pretty mixed reviews. I'm looking to buy some multifamily properties in the area. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pete, thank you for the response, I sent you a colleague request, and  I appreciate your offer, but based on the site current requirements, I cannot send you a private message unless you accept my colleague request. I think I may have led everyone on here to the wrong conclusion about what my real goal is though. I am trying to find the most efficient way of locating people with delinquent taxes more than buying properties at the auctions. Thanks again Anthony.

I was just checking out the delinquent tax information for Virginia Beach and was wondering, has anyone on here frequented the tax auctions in the area? Also, I was wondering if anyone has any good sources for finding properties with delinquent taxes. Should I just go to the treasurers office to get a list, or can I get one from another source outside of searching individual properties on the city website? Thanks in advance!

From what I can tell tax lien sales are better as far as not having hidden surprises like finding that their are other liens on the property after the sale, but as long as you have some time to do your due diligence either one should be a good way to get a good deal on a property. Just make sure you don't get auction fever and bid past what you calculate as your max bid going into the auction.
