Are you ready for the New Reality . . . ?

It's one thing for a fringe, tinfoil, conspiracy theory website such as this one https://www.zerohedge.com/mark...to warn (repeatedly, for months) that with mortgage rates rapidly approaching 6%, the US housing market is on the verge of a vicious collapse, as discussed articles such as these:

It's another for one of the biggest housing-market linked companies to confirm just that.

On Thursday, Zillow plunged as much as 13% in late trading Tuesday after a dismal outlook stoked investor fears that rising mortgage rates will spark the next crash in the US housing market.

Oh well, another Crash, another Cycle.

Houses have not gone down yet. There's just less inventory and that is not good for zillow.

Welcome to BP. Cristian. I'm in Modesto as well.

Thank you very much Kyle J.

Can someone please give me the link to the rental property calculator instructional video? I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to BP. I am also from Modesto.

I used to think of doing something like that. I looked into the Yosemite area and out near Tahoe. You can easily get a home equity line of credit with your existing properties and pull the trigger on the project. I'd say GO FOR IT! You might want to check out the Jamestown area near Pinecrest. Just make sure to get your math right and the team of people supporting your decision are all on the same page(a contract is a must).

I would move from San Diego, and return when it becomes affordable for whatever reason. For example, I wish I lived in Silicone Valley but why live somewhere that I will have to live paycheck to paycheck. Instead I live about 1hr 40 mins away and commute out there to make the big bucks. It's a short term sacrifice but I have a lot of money to spend on leisure, instead of worrying about a mortgage payment or my rent. Rent out there for a house like the one I live in would cost me about 5000 a month, and here in Modesto I'm paying 1600 on my mortgage while building equity. I'm thinking in the future, God willing I can sell this one and put a big down payment out there. As for now I live alone with my family and don't have to worry about having other roommates to help pay my rent or mortgage. Just my opinion, but do whatever you think works best for your situation.

Welcome to BP, Chris. Central Valley in the house.

I'm sorry to hear about your incident. You shouldn't feel bad at all. Family shouldn't be taking advantage of someone's generosity just because they think they can. Just my opinion.

@Elizabeth Matos, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the ex. Welcome back to BP :)
